Lino Cut Printing [weekday]

Service Description

Many people are familiar with this craft and it’s something that adults and young people can enjoy together. This is known as relief printing as the design is cut into the Lino with specially designed tools, which I will show you how to use. Traditional Lino can be difficult to cut so I also have Soft Cut materials if people prefer, I tend to use them myself and find it produces excellent results. You can draw your design directly onto the Lino or I also offer ready made designs which you stick onto the surface and cut around. Once cut you are left with raised areas and the ink is hand rolled across the whole plate. Paper is pressed onto the design and smoothed out using your hands, a barren or a small hand printer. The paper is peeled black to reveal your printed design. You can make any number of prints from one plate. At the end of the day you will leave with all of your prints, which can be made into cards & gift tags, and your own original cut plates which can be used to make more prints in the future.
